SMU produced two models for a very sophisticated and technical sun/shadow study comparison of San Francisco's Sheraton Palace Court, with and without a proposed tower. Because this was a lighting study and subject to intense heat, every model part needed to be cast of a material that would withstand high temperatures, a requirement that was contrary to our recommendations for proper model care. While exquisitely detailed with highly realistic sculptural elements and simulated polished marble columns, the interior of this room measures only twelve inches high. If you are not familiar with this glass-ceilinged historical landmark, it was recently featured in the movie "The Game".
